About

A small team that builds and keeps building

Astria GK is the parent company behind our client services work and our own products. The same engineers do both, which is the point — building and running our own software is what keeps the client work honest.

Why we build our own products

Most software companies only ever hand work over. We wanted to know what it is like to live with our decisions — to carry the support load, pay for the hosting, and fix the thing we shipped eighteen months ago.

Krono² and Skolo are the result. Running them changes how we build for clients: we design for the version of the product that exists two years after launch, not just the one that passes a demo.

What we take on

Websites, online stores, Android and iOS apps, and custom applications built around a specific workflow. We also take over existing products — including ones we did not write — starting with an honest audit of what you are carrying.

Background

Where the experience comes from

Astria GK is young, but the people in it are not new to this. Before starting the company, our engineers spent years building and running production banking and enterprise applications — the kind with audit trails, release gates, and no tolerance for a bad deploy. That is the standard we build client work to.

  • JPMorgan Chase

Banking platforms — hands-on application development.

  • BMO (Bank of Montreal)

Banking platforms — hands-on application development.

  • Takeda

Enterprise systems for a regulated pharmaceutical environment.

Prior employment of our team, not Astria GK client engagements.

How we operate

Four things we will not compromise on

  • We finish what we start

A handover is not a launch. We stay accountable through go-live and beyond, which is why maintenance is a service rather than an afterthought.

  • You own everything

Code, repositories, hosting, domains, and third-party accounts are yours. We do not use infrastructure access as leverage.

  • We say what we think

If a request will not work, or a cheaper approach would serve you better, you will hear it from us before the invoice, not after.

  • Direct access, no layers

You talk to the people writing the code. No account manager relaying requirements through a queue.

Process

What working with us looks like

  1. 01

    Discover

We map the workflow, the users, and the constraints before proposing a solution. You get a written scope you can hold us to — not a vague estimate that moves later.

  2. 02

    Design

Interface and architecture together. Screens are designed against the real data model, so what gets approved is what can actually be built.

  3. 03

    Build

Delivered in working increments you can open and use. Weekly demos, a shared board, and direct access to the engineers doing the work.

  4. 04

    Launch

Store submission, DNS, monitoring, analytics, and search setup handled. We treat performance and SEO as launch criteria rather than a follow-up ticket.

  5. 05

    Maintain

Security patches, dependency upgrades, monitoring, and steady improvement. Most agencies stop at step four — this is the step that decides whether the product is still healthy a year from now.
